Miranda Derrick has broken her silence after her life was once the focus of Netflix’s docuseries Dancing for the Devil: The 7M TikTok Cult.
The three-part series, released on May 29, explores Miranda’s family’s claims that the 7M dancer is allegedly stuck in a cult run through Robert Shinn, the pastor at Shekinah Church in Los Angeles and the founder of 7M Films, which manages Miranda’s dance profession.
Miranda, 27, released a commentary by the use of Instagram on Tuesday, June 4, that detailed her take on the docuseries, together with the truth she is “now not a victim,” “no longer in any hurt,” and “now not being abused.”
“I need to get started by means of pronouncing that I admire the worry that has been expressed for my well-being. Due to pending litigation, during which I am a plaintiff in a defamation lawsuit, it’s now not appropriate for me to touch upon explicit allegations. Though I will state that I don't condone abuse in any way,” Miranda, who has, in the past, denied she is in a cult, wrote by the use of an Instagram Story.
In the display, Shinn is accused of sexual assault by way of a couple of girls.
Miranda explained that whilst the collection has captured her oldsters’ and sister Melanie Ekeler’s perspectives on 7M, Miranda believes that what has been aired “is a one-sided story.”
“I like my Mom, Dad and Melanie and they will perpetually be a part of my life. The reality is, we simply don’t see eye to eye right now. I imagine that this documentary is a one-sided story,” Miranda wrote. “I gave my life to Jesus Christ in 2020 and asked my circle of relatives for some space in the very starting to gather my thoughts and procedure my new walk I sought after to take with God.”

Miranda persevered, “My circle of relatives didn’t honor the house I asked for and I saw a unique aspect of them I’ve never seen prior to. Honestly, it made me mad, annoyed and pissed off that they were being so overbearing and chaotic.”
The dance big name, who's married to fellow 7M dancer, James Derrick, and used to be first linked to him in April 2021 after she allegedly cut ties along with her family, also detailed a fallout between her and Ekeler.
“I also informed my sister that I wanted to proceed our wilkingsisters social media page. She logged me out of our account and after I asked for get admission to again she denied my request,” Miranda wrote. “So I had no other selection but to get started my very own account and pursue my very own profession.”

During an Instagram Live in February 2022, her family claimed that they weren't conscious about Miranda’s September 2021 wedding ceremony to James.
Miranda’s new commentary published that she and her family, together with her sister, are actually running in combination to move forward.
“I have been getting in conjunction with them over the previous couple years to make amends, move on and paintings things out as a circle of relatives. This documentary has created a further problem between us as I paintings to triumph over this public attack,” Miranda wrote.
Miranda also expressed her disapproval over the method she used to be represented inside the docuseries.
“No one likes to be portrayed as their [sic] brainwashed/not in control of her own lifestyles/shell of herself/human trafficked daughter/sister when that simply isn’t the reality,” she wrote. “I would have preferred that my circle of relatives’s cases stay non-public. I’m pressured and feel like I don't have any other choice but to defend myself on account of all of this. I will be able to’t persuade the rest to believe the rest. I am just a lady attempting to live my lifestyles. I am not a sufferer, I'm really not in any harm, It's not that i am being abused.”
The display follows a number of dancers and their families as they search for solutions about Shinn.
In recordings from his church services and products, Shinn is heard influencing contributors to reduce ties with their members of the family who don't belong to the group. He could also be accused of taking monetary benefit of the social media stars, mandating in some instances that they donate up to 70 p.c of their earnings to Shinn and Shekinah.
Netflix integrated a commentary at the finish of the document that read: “No felony fees have been introduced against Shinn. He has up to now denied sexually abusing any member of Shekinah or any client of 7M. The civil lawsuit is ongoing. Robert and his codefendants deny the claims in opposition to them. The case is about to cross to trial in 2025.”
