Still not over Peacock’s The Traitors? Us both — and Arie Luyendyk Jr. is breaking down his relationships together with his costars and the sport’s twists and turns completely with Us Weekly.
“It’s so unique — how the game is performed and that's what I believe makes it so wonderful because even when you’re doing the interviews and you’re talking about, let’s say other castmates or the missions, you’re by no means led by the manufacturers doing the interviews,” the former Bachelor, 41, explained on Us Weekly’s “Here for the Right Reasons” podcast on Thursday, February 2. “It’s totally natural and I believe like that makes it so cool because it actually is all about the gameplay.”
Arie, for his part, was once a faithful — a part of the crowd attempting to determine who the traitors had been — for almost all of the game. After traitor Cody Calafiore used to be banished, the former ABC big name used to be recruited to enroll in the traitors.
“I was thus far through the game [at that point],” he informed Us, including that he had already “done all the legwork” getting the solid to believe him so he wasn’t positive what to do. “I did waiver a little bit as a result of I was like, ‘If I say no, then I’m most probably [to be murdered subsequent], but I had the defend, so I used to be like I’ll most certainly will make it via yet another homicide/banishment, however I’m now not going to make it to the tip.’ So then I was like, ‘OK I just have to join.’”

“I was like, ‘OK, this is crazy.’ I had never even suspected Christian or Cirie so I was like, ‘We’re no doubt making it to the top.’ Because if I didn’t suspect them, then the people closest to me haven’t either,” he persevered. “So I’m like, ‘Dang, this is gonna be great.’ And then, , Christian I believe like made a huge error the next day to come and then it was once simply roughly like, ‘Shoot, must we banish Christian?’ … If he would’ve just stored it cool, I feel like Christian and I more than likely could have made it to the end and discovered the right way to either win with Cirie or at least get Cirie out or something. I feel that would’ve been the way to move. But that’s how the playing cards fell.”
After Christian was once banished, Arie believes Cirie sought after to safe by myself time with Quentin and Andie Vanacore all through the final undertaking.
“For me when it all roughly went sideways was the last mission. We flew in the helicopter and simply talking with Cirie, we needed to do a swim take a look at to see if we were in a position to finishing the final challenge. On our down day, all of us did a swim check and Cirie was once like, ‘Yeah, I will be able to’t really swim. You know, I will be able to swim, however I’m no longer gonna be the most efficient at swimming.’ And she knew that Quentin couldn’t swim, so I think like her gameplay used to be to be sure that she was with Quentin and Andie finally,” he explained. “So once we split up on that last project, that was once kind of a pivotal moment. Which, truthfully, I didn’t like. It was very dangerous of her to do what she did as a result of I may have blew up all the recreation on the finish and simply threw her underneath the bus. But I simply felt like, ‘OK, I wish to admire the sport.’”
Before he walked away, Arie advised Us that he dropped 3 clues for Quentin and Andie to question Cirie — but they didn’t take the bait.
“At middle, [I felt like] I used to be still a faithful as a result of I’d been a faithful for see you later that I used to be like, ‘Dang, I’ve relied on you. I’ve by no means double-crossed you. I’ve by no means double-crossed someone in the entire recreation.’ And then she did that to me and I was like, ‘Yes, you do need the money more than me, however you understand what, I guess you Andie may just use the money and Quentin may just use the money too,’” he said. “[My first clue was] I didn’t say congratulations, I mentioned ‘excellent luck’ on my good-bye. [My 2nd clue was once] I only hugged Quentin and Andie and I didn't hug Cirie. And then I additionally stated that I used to be recruited very past due, which roughly tipped [them off], like, ‘Hey, there might be anyone left.’”
