Bridget Jones's Diary's Colin Firth Recalls Crazy Moose Sweater Scene

Colin Firth’s moose sweater, or jumper, in Bridget Jones’s Diary is iconic, but he stated dressed in it on set wasn’t a dream come true.

“The set was once lit at about one hundred forty degrees Fahrenheit; it melted candles and desiccated the turkey curry,” Firth, 63, recalled to Entertainment Weekly in a resurfaced interview. “I virtually tore the jumper to pieces pulling it off between takes.”

Firth, who performed Mark Darcy within the movie franchise, joked, “I most probably misplaced about 15 kilos,” confessing, “I had little love for it through the tip.”

The actor famously wore the ugly jumper in the 2001 rom-com when his character first met Bridget Jones (Renée Zellweger) at a New Year’s Day birthday celebration.

“Maybe this was once the mysterious Mr. Right I’ve been ready my complete lifestyles to satisfy,” Bridget says in her head all through the film ahead of Darcy turns around and he or she sees his bold jumper choice. “Maybe not,” she quips.
