Cruel Summer finally revealed who killed Luke during the season 2 finale — taking a number of surprising swings in the process.
During the episode, which aired on Monday, July 31, Brent (Braeden De La Garza), confessed to Megan (Sadie Stanley) that he was responsible for Luke’s death. Through flashbacks, viewers witnessed how Brent picked Luke (Griffin Gluck) up at the dock sooner than the siblings were given into a controversy about their mom’s loss of life — which was once in fact led to due to her alcoholism.
Brent, who didn’t want to pay attention the truth, pushed Luke inflicting him hit his head in opposition to a railing and fall into the water. The eldest Chambers child instructed their father, Steve (Paul Adelstein), what took place and the crime was to start with covered up.
Things took a flip, alternatively, when Luke’s frame was once found out and Megan and Isabella (Lexi Underwood) become individuals of pastime. Isabella reputedly gave the police a redacted tape showing handiest Megan with a gun within the cabin with Luke the evening he were given killed. The plan to frame Megan didn’t work out though as a result of Brent admitted to the crime.

In the aftermath, Megan tried to make peace with Luke’s passing while Isabella left with no trace. Cruel Summer delivered a surprising blow at the finish of the episode when Megan found pictures showing Luke still alive after his fall. He washed up at the shore — where Isabella drowned him.
