Nikki DeLoach was once interested by Goldy and Tom’s kiss in Curious Caterer: Foiled Plans and he or she’s already dreaming up what’s subsequent for the movie couple.
“My hopes for the romance with Tom and Goldy, I believe it will be fun to play with them,” DeLoach, 44, solely told Us Weekly whilst promoting the Hallmark Mystery film, which premiered on Friday, April 25. “They’re now not actually the courting kind. They both have those lives happening.”
DeLoach has performed caterer and newbie sleuth Goldy along Andrew Walker’s Detective Tom Schultz since 2022’s Curious Caterer: Dying for Chocolate. The pair have now costarred in 4 Curious Caterer Mystery movies, the newest being Foiled Plans.
In Foiled Plans, the couple in the end kissed after fixing a murder at a Medieval dinner party while trapped in a fortress. DeLoach informed Us that there used to be at the beginning extra dialogue between Goldy and Tom prior to the kiss, but she pushed for it to be minimize.
“They need[ed] to just opt for it in this moment,” she recalled. “I’ve seen the movie several instances and I believe it in point of fact worked.”
When it comes to what’s subsequent for the pair, DeLoach famous that Tom has a “prime stakes process” and Goldy “reveals herself in those situations that finally end up being prime stakes.” That dynamic makes their relationship “so unconventional” and it’s evident in the way they “begin to fall in love with each other,” in step with the actress.
“I individually don’t want to see them pass on a date in [movie] 5. But what I would like to look them do is they’ve now kissed [so] what does that imply?” DeLoach said. “You most often kiss after you’ve been on a date or two or one thing, but they’re previous that. So then what's subsequent for them?”
For the actress, she needs the next Curious Caterer to “truly lean into that and explore that” for the couple.
“I’m excited for [the following installment] as a result of such a lot happened in [film] four that it’s ripe for tale and for numerous a laugh and romance,” DeLoach teased.
When it comes to future films, DeLoach may be rooting for a more evolved romance between Marla Maguire (Jaycie Dotin) and Dave Trach (Brock Morgan). Trach used to be presented in 2023’s Fatal Vows as somewhat of a villain, but he begins to connect to Goldy’s perfect pal, Marla, while trapped in the citadel right through Foiled Plans.

“I’m making a push for [Trach to stick] because something that took place [film] 3 was that Trach came in and our target market was once like, ‘No.’ They in point of fact did not like him at all,” she defined to Us, noting that Trach is “three dimensional” and grows all the way through Foiled Plans.
DeLoach continued: “I am hoping that now that [viewers] know why he is the best way he is, then they're going to fall in love with him the best way that we've got fallen in love. I hope that he grows on our target audience as neatly, so we will get him back. Because I really like the dynamic too, between Marla and Trach.”
