Grab the tissues! Lifetime released the first trailer for its remake of weepy ’80s classic Beaches on Monday, November 28.
The new movie stars Idina Menzel, who performs C.C., and Nia Long, who plays Hillary. The trailer begins with their characters as young ladies meeting on the seaside and posing in a photo sales space à la the original 1988 film earlier than we see them as adults. Menzel, who portrays an aspiring singer and actress, is resurrecting Bette Midler’s famous personality, while Long serves as her supportive easiest good friend, a character at the start played by way of Barbara Hershey.
The movie tells the tale of early life best possible friends from other upbringings and follows their ups and downs via marriage, occupation, loss and motherhood to a tear-jerking finish.
