Ah, reminiscences. Napoleon Dynamite and Pedro reunited for a Burger King commercial that includes the fast-food joint’s new menu merchandise, cheesy tater tots, which debuted on Tuesday, November 29.
The pair — played through actors Jon Heder and Efren Ramirez — glance all grown up with sweaters and facial hair, compared to their 2004 alter egos within the cult vintage, as they experience a meal in combination at one of the vital chain’s many locations.
“Whoa. Are those cheesy tots?” Heder-as-Napoleon says in the TV spot as Ramirez-as-Pedro is about to chew right into a crispy pleasure. “Yeah,” Pedro responds.
“Are the ones excellent?” Napoleon asks, retaining Pedro from the pleasing crunch. “Yeah,” Pedro responds again, getting pissed off.
“Can I have one?” Napoleon asks. “Sure,” Pedro says ahead of Napoleon reaches over and scoops an entire handful of the fried candies. He provides insult to harm by means of snatching the lone tot Pedro had raised to his lips and munching on that one first.
In the 2004 film, the pair are big enthusiasts of the cafeteria’s tater tots, and Napoleon is known for sneaking out fistfuls of the stuff in his zippered jean pockets. One now-iconic scene shows the awkward top schooler trying to snack on the tots while taking a check in class.
When one in all his classmates asks him for a tot, Napoleon declines, and is summarily kicked within the facet of the leg so that each one of his tots get smooshed in an unappetizing cluster.
