Coparenting at its greatest! Ne-Yo and his ex-fiancée, Monyetta Shaw, threw a joint birthday party for their 5-year-old kids, Madilyn and Mason, at Stars and Strikes bowling heart in Atlanta on Saturday, November 5, the previous couple solely tells Us Weekly.
The “Coming With You” singer, 37, and the Atlanta Exes alum, 36, celebrated with members of the family and shut buddies including Keshia Knight Pulliam, Kandi Burruss and Phaedra Parks, while Madilyn and Mason loved non-public bowling, laser tag and arcade games with their pals from college. (Madilyn turns 6 on November 12, and Mason became 5 on October 9.)
“The party was once a success because our kids had a great time,” Ne-Yo tells Us. “That’s what it’s all about. No pork, no unhealthy blood, no coloration … we're grown. This is what it looks like when grown-ups act like adults.”
During the party, visitors snacked on a pizza buffet, salad and breadsticks. The birthday boy and girl each and every got their own cake; Mason’s cookies and cream-flavored cake was Paw Patrol–themed, while Madilyn’s strawberry cake used to be My Little Pony–themed. Guests also enjoyed personalized cookies decorated with lovable footage of Madilyn and Mason.
“Ever because the M’s 2nd and 3rd birthday, Ne-Yo and I made up our minds on a joint party for them as a result of dad’s busy time table and the truth that their birthdays are close,” Shaw tells Us. “They if truth be told adore it as a result of they are pretty much inseparable and BFFs. So we’ve made it our little custom. … It was once important for us to throw their birthday party together, as we now have earlier than, to continue to set a good example for our kids and to let them know that no matter what, they're beloved and celebrated.”
The Bigger Than Me creator continues, “I remember the fact that some exes can’t get alongside or stand to be in the similar position with each different, but we have made a conscious decision to not be those folks.
