Megan Thee Stallion and Nicki Minaj once heralded “Hot Girl Summer,” however things have cooled between them.
The newest escalation of their feud took place on Friday, January 26, shortly after Megan, 28, dropped “Hiss,” her latest snake-themed single. In the primary verse, she raps, “These hoes don’t be mad at Megan / These hoes mad at Megan’s Law.”
Megan’s Law used to be enacted through the United States govt in the ‘90s and requires legislation enforcement government to make data relating to registered intercourse offenders to be had to the general public. The lyric was once briefly interpreted as a not-so-subtle dig at Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, who's a registered intercourse wrongdoer. (Petty, 45, used to be convicted of first-degree attempted rape in 1995, and in 2021, he pleaded in charge for failing to sign in as a sex offender with the state of California after shifting there from New York.)
Shortly after “Hiss” dropped, Minaj, 41, went on Instagram Live to “have a bit of amusing.” She played a snippet of an unreleased music, in which she raps, “Bad bitch she like 6 foot / I call her big foot / The complain fell off / I mentioned get up to your excellent foot.”
The verse appeared to reference Megan being shot within the foot by Tory Lanez in 2020. Lanez, 31, was once later found guilty of three felony attack charges stemming from the taking pictures. In August 2023, he was once sentenced to 10 years in prison.
Minaj repeated the audio a few more occasions, guffawing at her bars with each and every play. Afterward, Minaj insulted Megan’s waft and her talent as a rapper. “You have 3 Grammys and you have to learn how to rap at the beat and be comfy within the music,” she said before imitating Megan’s fast moving drift.
In addition to the Live, Minaj went on a spree of “liking” posts on X that mocked Megan’s look and the Lanez shooting.

The insults didn’t move overlooked — Megan seemingly answered to Minaj by means of her Instagram Story when the livestream used to be over. She posted a photo of herself giggling, as though to mention she was guffawing off Minaj’s barbs and jabs.
It’s unclear why Minaj and Megan fell out following their collaboration on the latter’s 2019 hit, “Hot Girl Summer.” The consensus among lovers is that the artists’ dynamic grew to become bitter after Megan labored with Minaj’s competitor Cardi B on the 2020 unmarried “WAP.”

Minaj seemingly took a swipe at the collab on the 2023 music “Red Ruby da Sleeze,” rapping that she now not “f—k[s] with horses since Christopher Reeves.”
