Pretty Little Liars‘ large “A” divulge was just as surprising to the actress enjoying the display’s ultimate villain because it was to the audiences who watched it play out on Tuesday, Aug. 11. Vanessa Ray tells Us Weekly the morning after the answer-filled episode aired that she didn’t even know her personality, CeCe, was A until just before capturing the Season 6A finale.
“I didn’t find out until proper before we started filming,” she admits to Us. “The beginning of June I found out!”
Like many of the display’s actors, she’d thought to be the various tactics wherein her routine character could be the one torturing the group of Pennsylvania youngsters. “I thought it would totally be me but I believed it could be any individual else,” she confesses. “I’m like, ‘Oh, that’s simply wishful considering,’ you realize?”
And yes, similar to you, Ray, 34, had been down many an Internet spiral studying fan theories about A. “I had that evening the place I had fallen down the rabbit hole and watched every fan concept on YouTube and skim the entire accounts, accomplished the whole thing, and I’m like, ‘Oh, that seems like a just right enough reason! I would buy that,'” she finds. “But what I couldn’t have guessed — and I was so thankful I am so excited to see — was just this family dynamic and the whole point of it was like, ‘Careful what you train your youngsters because they'll develop up and turn into monsters or they're going to develop into angels.'”
Also, identical to fanatics, as soon as Ray discovered out the reality, she was in a position to appear again on details about the nature that creator I. Marlene King had mentioned together with her in years previous.
“When I first got the function, we had a variety of conversations,” Ray dishes. “We would have those lengthy telephone conversations about how she was a sociopath and how there was extra to her than simply being a villain. When did she become victimized? How did she transform a villain? Cece was not the villain then, she was kind of this larger-than-life, all about herself [figure]. I discovered a majority of these conversations that I might have with Marlene all make sense.”
The end of the summer season finale jumped forward five years — partially so the poor twentysomething actresses enjoying the Liars can play nearer to their very own age — and Ray says it’s exciting to peer the characters in new puts in lifestyles.
“We get to discover those characters that we like so much in a new method and that’s so neat,” Ray gushes. “I believe form of a large tell is the entire women depart at the end of this episode, and Ali stays. Why would Ali keep? It doesn’t seem to make a lot of sense — she appears to be the one that would be cruising out of there, first train out of Rosewood.”

But the instant when Alison (Sasha Pieterse) and CeCe attached on the end of the summer season finale — CeCe has “never experienced original human love until on the finish when Alison is like, ‘You’re my sister and I like you,'” Ray explains — was a formative one and may well be one reason Ali stayed in Pennsylvania. “I believe that maybe it has one thing to do with that love I was speaking about — the newfound love that they have.”
