
Shemar Moore is stoked that S.W.A.T. season 8 is across the corner.
Moore, 54, spoke solely to Us Weekly on the CBS Fall Schedule Celebration on the Paramount lot in Los Angeles on Thursday, May 2, dishing on the prior to now canceled show’s return to the small display screen.
Moore instructed Us that “none people expected” an 8th season, however he for sure hoped for one. “I will be able to’t say that I anticipated it,” he instructed Us. “That could be a little conceited, but I I believed in it. “We made them suppose, and the fanatics screamed and yelled and the powers that be listened,” the Criminal Minds alum added.
Moore, who performs the lead function of Sergeant II Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson on S.W.A.T., also spoke to Us about how he sees his persona evolving.

“I do know he’s a family man,” Moore explained. “Now he’s got a spouse and a little lady, which artwork imitates lifestyles.” (Moore and his girlfriend, Jesiree Dizon, share daughter Frankie, 15 months.)
Moore, on the other hand, said he doesn’t need S.W.A.T. to “grow to be a cleaning soap opera.”
“We’re S.W.A.T. — you recognize that theme track, guy,” he said. “I wish to stay that thrill trip going. But I really like when we get topical. I really like when we get grounded. We have an ideal sense of camaraderie and chemistry that you see on the show.
Moore famous that plays a “superhero” at the show, which he notes “is a great thing.”
When Dizon, 40, was asked what it was like relationship a superhero, she responded, “It’s fun. … He’s the same at house. Not so critical but similar to that — roughly a laugh. You know, [like a] dad!”
Dizon explained that she offers Moore “a number of space and time to sleep when he needs to sleep” after lengthy days on set.

S.W.A.T. debuted in 2017 and tracks Harrelson and his group of tricky police officers struggling with crime in Los Angeles. The eighth season is slated to air q4 with 22 episodes. This renewal is surprising, given CBS’ (*8*) that season 7 would mark the display’s conclusion.
