Hoda Kotb is preparing for an upcoming move, and her daughters are the reason behind the massive determination.
“I used to be fascinated about shifting. My youngsters and are going to move someplace to a brand new faculty,” Kotb, 59, revealed on the Wednesday, March 27, episode of her “Making Space” podcast. The Today host is the mum of daughters Haley, 7, and Hope, 4, whom she shares with ex-fiancé Joel Schiffman.
While discussing the move with her podcast guest, author Arthur Brooks, Kotb reminisced about the “again and again” she’s modified places during her life. “I bear in mind once my folks moved us to Nigeria. I used to be in fourth grade, I used to be horrified,” she shared. “We get to this position, the language was once different, everyone seemed other and it was once exhausting. I moved again in sixth grade.”
Kotb endured: “It’s so humorous since the stories I inform now as an adult, are the tales of how I persisted or what I did to cope. Yet at the same time, as I’m making ready my children, I feel like I’m attempting to give protection to them from things that they should more than likely be into.”
Noting that the transferring process will “be more bad than just right initially,” Brooks, 59, shared some recommendations on the right way to make the transition smoother for Kotb and her kids. “When you move to a new position, pretend you’ve lived there for 10 years already,” he stated, suggesting Kotb throw gatherings with friends and family like she would at her current house. “It’s a whole game-changer since you accelerate the clock.”
Kotb continued to open up about her move at the Thursday, March 28, episode of Today With Hoda and Jenna, clarifying that she and her ladies aren't leaving the “New York space.”
“It’s interesting as a result of think about how repeatedly you’ve moved on your existence,” she informed her cohost, Jenna Bush Hager. “Every time I moved in my existence, and also you moved in yours, it used to be like, unexpectedly, it was an enormous adjustment. But the stories I tell about growing in my existence come from those.”

Thursday’s episode of Hoda and Jenna marked Kotb’s go back to the collection after taking a brief break from the show on Wednesday. Although she had seemed on the first two hours of Today, Willie Geist stepped in to cohost alongside Bush Hager, 42.
Though neither Kotb nor her cohost shared the reason behind her absence at the time, she gave fanatics a glimpse at how she spent her day post-filming. “This makes me so satisfied. Little Hopey ❤️ @katyperry,” she captioned a Wednesday Instagram video of Hope driving on a scooter while making a song “Firework” through Katy Perry.
Kotb later explained her absence at the top of Thursday’s Hoda and Jenna episode. “A good friend of ours, who we each love dearly, Laura [Castorino], who does our hair, her mother handed,” she shared, going on to call the hairstylist “one of the good eggs” and praising her for being a “mothering” determine to the show’s body of workers.
