The cast of Top Chef season 15 had a bittersweet reunion on Sunday, January 13. The culinary minds got here together in Los Angeles to honor considered one of their own – Fatima Ali. The 29-year-old, who asked for prayers on January 10, is currently fighting most cancers and, in her own words, is “getting sicker.”
Joe Flamm, who won season 15 of the Bravo festival show, took to Instagram to percentage a photo of Ali in a hospital bed cradling his young son, Luka, in her fingers. “Today used to be a excellent day #teamfati,” Flamm captioned the snap.
Fellow contestant Bruce Kalman, meanwhile, captioned a photograph of Ali and Luka, “We all came together, flew in from as far as Alaska, to look this beautiful lady, and got to have some laughs together with her. We love you so very much.”
Ali’s different Top Chef guests included Adrienne Cheatham, Tyler Anderson, Tanya Holland, Claudette Wilkins, Carrie Baird, Rogelio Garcia, Chris Scott, Tu David Phu, Joe Sasto, Melissa Perfit and Laura Cole. Many of them additionally took to social media to mark the bittersweet instance.

Holland called Ali the “glue” of the gang and said they’re all “bonded eternally now.”
Wilkins had similar thoughts and was once happy her kids got to meet many members of her Top Chef family. “These persons are my folks. Hard to provide an explanation for the bonds that occur during our time in combination,” she captioned a series of Instagram photos. “I wish they underneath better circumstances that we had been together but when one hurts all of us harm and we rally. @cheffati is loved beyond trust and we will be able to be here for her and each different. Thankful my kids got to fulfill them the day before today to look how humorous and at ease we're with each other.”
Ali revealed her terminal diagnosis, which used to be a recurrence of most cancers, in an essay published through Bon Appétit’s (*15*) in October 2018. “The most cancers cells my doctors believed had vanished are again with a vengeance in my left hip and femur bone,” she penned at the time. “My oncologist has informed me that I have a year to reside, with or without the new chemotherapy routine. I used to be having a look forward to being 30, flirty and thriving. Guess I've to step it up on the flirting. I haven't any time to lose.”
