Highway to the Danger Zone! As Top Gun: Maverick continues to top the field place of work, fans are soaking up all of the behind-the-scenes content from the set.
Miles Teller, Glen Powell, Jay Ellis, Greg “Tarzan” Davis and more members of the newer generation of pilots have made waves, specifically, for a shirtless scene in which they play soccer at the seaside with Tom Cruise’s Pete “Maverick” Mitchell — a nod to the infamous volleyball scene within the OG Top Gun, which premiered in 1986.
“We’d all seen the original Top Gun scene. I was consuming more grass than a bunny rabbit, and protein bars,” Davis informed USA Today about going in form for the montage. “I used to be in height form. It was like, ‘Oh, yes.’”
Teller, for his phase, got down to 7 percent body fat for the shirtless scene.
“For breakfast, it was six eggs after which, you recognize, you figure out and then you could have a shake after which it used to be two lunches.
