What the Original Cast of The Office Has Said About the Spinoff

Some of the original cast of The Office have unfolded about the new untitled spinoff airing on Peacock.

The show — reported to be however a brand new mockumentary that includes fresh cast participants set in the identical universe as the original — was once first announced in 2023.

The official logline reads: “The documentary group that immortalized Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton department is in seek of a new subject after they discover a demise historic Midwestern newspaper and the writer seeking to revive it with volunteer newshounds.”

Domhnall Gleeson and Sabrina Impacciatore are slated to star in the untitled sequence, which will get started manufacturing in July 2024.

Steve Carell

“I can be gazing, however I can not be showing up,” Carell, who performed Michael Scott on the hit NBC series that ran from 2005 to 2013, told The Hollywood Reporter earlier this month. “It’s only a new thing and there’s actually no reason for my character [Michael Scott] to show up in one thing like that. But I’m excited about it, it feels like a super conceit.”

He persevered: “I like the idea — I assume it’s set in a failing newspaper company, and I labored with Domhnall Gleeson, who's one of the leads; I did [the 2022 series] The Patient with him, and he’s an excellent actor and a super nice guy, so I believe it’ll be great.”

Earlier this month, Carell said on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert that he doesn’t see himself making an look on the spinoff.

John Krasinski

Rainn Wilson 

Wilson published on The View earlier this month that he could be open to reprising his function as the quirky Dwight Schrute.

Mindy Kaling 

Earlier this month, Kailing — who played Kelly in the original series — presented some words of knowledge for the new actors while filming their scenes.
